“I’m advocating for solutions to homelessness because I’ve been through this before and I know how hard it is. The less people go through it, I think the better our world becomes.”

“What we've learned about ending homelessness is that you need a nimble command center style team. You need an entity with the authority to be able to act quickly and to manage the resources. That’s what we need here.”

“What excites me about this new approach is that we've come up with a structure that will allow all parts of the county – rural, suburban, urban, to work together to solve homelessness.”

Throughout the holiday season, consider donating your small talk to help raise awareness and empathy about the challenges of housing instability. @WeAreInKingCo has a toolkit to make these conversations easy:
"We must work together—advocates, government officials, faith and business leaders, and most of all, people who have themselves experienced homelessness. We must work together to establish a new status quo of health, stability, and housing for all."
"On this Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, we mourn the lost, and we renew our commitment to a world where housing is a right—not a privilege."

It takes all of us to prevent and end homelessness.
